The Vaessen Creative Score Easy board is a multi purpose scoring board with a scoring area maximum 30,5x30,5cm. Ideal for making envelopes, envelope boxes, gift boxes, cards and score lines. This tool can be used with various types of paper, including cardstock and scrapbook paper. Fold any kind of paper you want!

All measurements on our Scoring board are indicated in inches. The instructions on our Score Easy triangular ruler are designed for use with the score lines on the score easy board.Have a look at the video below for a demonstration of our Score Easy tool.

To make an envelope:

  1. Place the measurement triangle on the right hand side of your board , making sure that the cut off area lines up with the measurement triangle,as shown in the instruction photo.
  2. There are three instructions on the  measurement triangle, Card size, paper size and scale mark. Scale mark refers to the the measuring ruler on the triangle.
  3. Choose which size of envelope you would like to make and cut your paper to  the card size required.
  4. Lay the paper along the measuring ruler to required scale mark. For example, card size 2 x 3½ inch, paper size 5 x 5 inch, you will use scale mark 2.
  5. There is a small groove in the corner of the triangle, this is your score line.
  6. Make a score in the paper, not pressing too hard as you could damage the paper. This pressure required depends on the thickness of the paper.
  7. You do not need to use the scale mark again, this is only used for your first score line.
  8. Remove your paper and rotate 90 degrees. Place the paper along the triangle and align your score line in the paper with the little triangle underneath the 0.
  9. You will now see where to make your second score line where the two score lines cross.
  10. Score your second line . Again, rotate 90 degrees and repeat the last steps.
  11. You will now have four score lines crossing each other and your envelope is nearly finished.
  12. Refer to measurement  triangle for diagram of scored envelope.
  13. Using a notch punch or scissors, cut out the four little triangles and then fold your envelope along the score lines.
  14. Using double sided tape, stick down the two envelope flaps.
  15. Your envelope is now complete.

Making an envelope Box:

The instructions are the same as for  making the envelope but the envelope box requires two score lines on each turn of the 90 degree turn. These  two score line measurements can be found on the measurement triangle. There is also a diagram of the score lines to follow.
