Create a cheerful rosette in (Dutch) carnival colours! With paper, glue, and lots of scoring and folding, you can make a festive decoration for your carnival outfit.
1
Take a red, yellow, and green A4 sheet of cardstock and cut each into four pieces of 14.8 x 10.5 cm (A6). Place each piece on the scoring board and score a line every centimetre.
2
Repeat this for all sheets until you have six scored pieces. Now fold each piece in a zigzag pattern.
3
Place the zigzag pieces next to each other so the pattern continues, and stick them together with glue or double-sided tape.
4
Also, join the beginning and end to form a circle.
5
Punch two circles from a new sheet of paper.
6
Apply glue to both punched circles. Place one down, press the zigzag circle inwards so it flattens, and stick the other circle on top. Press firmly and let it dry.
7
Draw a hat, eyes, and a mouth on white and black paper.
8
Cut out the shapes and stick them onto the rosette. Optionally, add extra details with a fine liner or marker.
