Making a Christmas Card with a Candy Cane

Making a Christmas Card with a Candy Cane

Crafting for Christmas is the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit. Would you like to make a Christmas card yourself without spending hours on it? Then this DIY is for you! In 8 simple steps, we’ll show you how to create a festive Christmas card, complete with a cute candy cane.

Merry Christmas!

1
Begin by cutting an A4 sheet of brown cardstock paper into a 8.6 x 6.2 inch (22 x 16 cm) size. Score the 8.6 inch (22 cm) side at 4.3 inch (11 cm), resulting in a folded base card measuring 4.3 x 6.2 inch (11 x 16 cm).
2
Next, trim the decorative paper with text to a 3.9 x 5.9 inch (10 x 15 cm) size and round the corners using a corner punch.
3
Attach the decorative paper to the front of the base card using double-sided tape, leaving a margin of approximately 0.2 inch (0.5 cm) around the edges.
4
Now, punch out seven red and seven white circles from the Florence cardstock paper.
5
To create a festive pattern, sketch the outline of a candy cane on the card and then alternately affix the red and white circles, allowing them to slightly overlap.
6
Punch a label from the brown cardstock paper and use a hole punch to make a hole at the top of the label.
7
Add a touch of holiday cheer by stamping a Christmas message on the card. Use a stamp block for a neat result.
8
Lastly, craft a bow by cutting approximately 9 inches (23 cm) of both coloured ribbons. Secure the ribbons and label to the card with double-sided tape.
