1
Take the paper pad and cutting die. Cut the paper to size for the die-cutting machine. Then, die-cut four sheets of paper from each of the six colours.
2
After die-cutting, you will have strips like these. You can fold the strips immediately.
3
First, fold the diagonals from the centre backwards to create a hat-like shape. Then, fold the small triangles at the bottom forwards.
4
Fold the flaps with the small folded triangles upwards towards the centre.
5
Fold everything in half with the flaps inside. Repeat these steps for all the paper strips until you have all the triangles.
6
These triangles are the building blocks for the project. Start with two triangles of the same colour and one of a different colour. First, decide on the colour order. (In this case, it goes from light green to dark green, followed by orange to light yellow).
7
Take a light green triangle as the starting point and slide half of a point of another triangle into the opening at the back. Do the same with the dark green triangle. This way, two different points come together in one triangle.
8
Next, take the same colour and slide it over the previous protruding triangle. Then, slide a new colour into the back.
9
Repeat these steps until all the colours have been used once. Then, continue with the first colour.
10
Keep repeating this until all the colours have been used five times and connect them with a final triangle.
11
Turn the whole piece over and continue building in the same way. Offset the colours by half a triangle each time to create a spiral effect.
12
Continue building until you reach the desired height. The higher you build, the more it will take the shape of a container or pot. In this example, it is 11 rings high. Optionally, glue a circle of paper to the bottom if you want to close the pot.
