In the mood for a summer craft activity? Create a beach hut using lolly sticks! With just a few craft supplies, you can make a cheerful row of nostalgic miniature beach huts. Add a unique touch to each hut with your favourite colours.
Start by painting the lolly sticks with a wide brush and acrylic paint. For a ‘beach’ effect, apply the paint lightly so that the wood shows through in places.
2
For each beach hut, paint 8 sticks white and 5 sticks in a colour of your choice. Let the paint dry thoroughly before assembling the huts.
3
Arrange the sticks alternately, one white and one coloured, until you have a total of 9 sticks, starting and ending with a white stick. Place a coloured stick horizontally across the bottom of the vertical sticks. Glue the horizontal stick using a hot glue gun.
4
Take two white sticks for the roof. Position them as desired and mark the centre. Also, mark the roof’s diagonals on the base of the hut.
5
Cut the sticks for the roof to size using a sturdy pair of scissors.
6
Next, trim the sticks of the hut diagonally according to the marked lines.
7
Attach the roof to the hut. Cut the last white stick into two pieces, each about 4.5 cm, and glue them side by side to form a door.
