DIY decorations for a trendy Easter table

Create trendy Easter table decorations yourself!

Easter is around the corner! Have you already given the styling for this fun family holiday some thought? Dress the table beautifully for a festive Easter breakfast. You can of course create the decorations and accessories yourself. Choose colours that perfectly match your crockery or go with a trendy colour pallette with pastels and bright accents.

Tie dye placemats and coasters

Create a tie dye effect by working with alcohol ink on yupo paper. Take a sheet of yupo paper and curve the corners with a corner punch. Start with a light colour of alcohol ink and drip it over the sheet. Spread the colour with a blending brush. Next, merge the subsequent colours together using some blending solution, so the colours blend well into each other.  Choose a maximum of 3 to 4 complimentary colours for a well-balanced effect. Drip and mix the colours and touch them up here and there with a blending tool. Dry the placemat and coasters with a heat tool after you have achieved the desired effect. Origami egg cups

A sheet of paper and a special folding technique are all you need for creating these easy geometric egg cups. Choose a sheet of paper of 6.7 x 6.7 inch in a nice colour and get started. In a step-by-step video on our Instagram feed you can see exactly how to fold the egg cups.  Easy does it!

Napkin rings of self-drying clay

Take a piece of self-drying clay and roll it out to a thickness of about 0.2 inch. Then cut it into a rectangle of about 2 x 5.9 inch. Press a flat object such as a ruler repeatedly into the clay to create a ribbed effect. Sculpt the ends of the ribbed clay sheet together and leave it to dry well according to the instructions on the packaging. Repeat these steps depending on the amount of napkin rings you want to make. After they have dried, you can paint the napkin rings in the colours of your choice. If you wish, you can then finish them off with a varnish for a more durable result.
